History

Reid was named after the Right Honourable Sir George Reid (1845-1918). Sir George was Australia’s fourth Prime Minister who formed a Government in August 1904 and held office until July 1905. He entered the House of Representatives after having been the Premier of New South Wales from 1894 to 1898. Sir George was a Federalist and was one of the Founders of the Constitution.
