History

Turner was named after the Right Honourable Sir George Turner (1851-1916). Right Honourable Sir George Turner was a Leader, Federalist and was one of the Founders of the Constitution. He was Premier of Victoria and represented the State at the Federal Conventions of 1895 and 1987-89. He was the Treasurer in the first Commonwealth Government.
