History
The Suburb name of Fadden was gazetted as a Division name on 5 August 1975 and commemorates the achievements of Rt Hon. Sir Arthur William Fadden, PC, GC, MG (1875-1973). Many of his achievements included, Prime Minister of Australia August-October (1941) and served as a member of the house of Representatives 1936-1958. Sir Arthur held a seat in the House of Representative for Darling Downes, Queensland 1936-49 and for McPherson, Queensland 1949-58. He was the leader of the Country Party 1941-58, Leader of the Opposition 1941-43 and Treasurer 1949-58.
