History
Theodore was named after the Honourable Edward Glanville Theodore (1884-1950). Honourable Edward Glanville Theodore was a Member of Parliament and was a successful Businessman. He was a Member of the Queensland Parliament from 1909-25, Treasurer and Minister for Public Works from 1915-19, Premier of Queensland from 1919-25, Member of Federal Parliament from 1927-31 and Treasurer and Deputy Prime Minister from 1929-31. Honourable Theodore was the Chairman for the Consolidated Press from 1936-39 and was Director-General of Allied Works from 1942-44.
The suburb name "Theodore" was gazetted on 5 August 1975
