As of the 1st July 2006, the 25 year old Robina Realty, formally part of Robina Land Corporation (RLC), has been purchased by Alanah Day, principal of A Plus Realty, who was the former leading salesperson before starting her own agency. It was sold by Robina Land Corporation (RLC), the company owned by Dr Robin Loh whose vision for the master-planned community was conceived in 1981 and continues to evolve. In a related move, Ms Day and her brother Damien Parker will also take full control of A-Plus Realty, a business established as a joint venture between Ms Day and RLC to market property across the Gold Coast. Ms Day merged Robina Realty and A-Plus Realty brands to form Robina+ Realty (logo on the right) A-Plus will also retain its own identity as a project marketing division of the new business. "It's a landmark deal in that it represents a new beginning for the Robina Realty brand and it reunites me with a business in which I had a great affinity before establishing A-Plus," says Ms Day. "Robina Realty is a powerful name and it has a proud heritage so that's what I'm buying into. I have a great knowledge and passion for this area and this deal allows me to strengthen my association with Robina." "Also, I already have a strong residential sales division so the purchase of the rent roll is very complementary to my business." RLC's Tony Tippett said Ms Day's track record with the group influenced the sale. "Robina Land Corporation hand picked Alanah Day to continue flying the flag at Robina Realty in recognition of our long association with Alanah and high regard for her professionalism and results-oriented achievement," he said. " In fact, we believe Alanah to be the outstanding agent in Robina." The association between Robina and Ms Day began in March, 1989, when she joined Robina Realty. In November 2002 Ms Day then established the A-Plus business with RLC and was tasked with the sale of large-scale residential estates including Robina Gardens, which contained the last homesites ever sold by RLC. The projects division later expanded into the sale of other residential developments outside of Robina including Stockland's The Observatory land release at Reedy Creek. A-Plus presided over the sale of 283 blocks of land at The Observatory, with 48 selling in its last six weeks of her marketing the project earlier this year. It also worked on Stockland's $260 million Allisee apartment project at Runaway Bay, striking $32 million in sales in the first 10 weeks of its launch late last year. The latest purchase of the Robina Realty brand and rent roll is effective from July 1 and is expected to lead to the relocation of the A-Plus business from its current base in the Riverwalk commercial suites at Robina. Services will increase under the new agency, with Robina+ Realty to establish the only independent real estate agency research division servicing the area. Staff numbers have also lifted, with the purchase of the rent roll resulting in three property management staff from the former business relocating to the new Robina+ Realty. The sale by RLC comes at a time when Robina is set to write a new chapter in its evolution, with work under way on the creation of a new sporting stadium that will house the Gold Coast Titans football team which joins the National Rugby League next season. Its planned opening in 2008 will be a milestone event for Robina, which was created in 1981 when the first housing lots were sold in the suburb. In 1989 the suburb became home to Australia's first private university, Bond University. The following year saw the opening of the Robina State School, followed by the Robina High School in 1995 and Robina Town Centre in 1996 and a rail station in 1998. "This is a suburb that continues to evolve and the addition of these type of facilities underpins the growth of the surrounding residential community," says Ms Day. "It has also given me the added confidence to invest in the area through the purchase of the Robina Realty brand and the formation of the new Robina+ Realty business."
