We’ve been buildinglasting relationshipsfor over 50 years. Now and then a company comes along that influences the way a generation of Australians live. One such company is Collier Homes. For over 50 years Collier Homes has been looking to the future to anticipate the ever changing needs of West Australian families. That’s why we’ve developed a range of homes that are as diverse as the families who live in them, and while the styles may have changed over the years, our commitment to quality, first class customer service and value for money has stayed the same. Our HistoryIn December 1959, an application was lodged with the WA Corporate Affairs Office by Raymond Charles McCarthy to form a new homebuilding company called Collier Constructions Pty Ltd. Ray lived in Collier St, Applecross - hence the name. The early years of Collier built houses mainly for the State Housing Commission, later expanded to building homes for the private sector. Collier opened its first display home, called The Norwood in 1967 in Riseley Street, Applecross. In 1969 the business was sold to a large national land developer called Development Underwriting Ltd (DUL). In September 1974, Ron Smith was appointed DUL's Sales Manager and in 1977 its State Manager. In March 1981 Ron Smith acquired the land and building operations of DUL (then trading as Entrad) and began operating solely under the Collier Homes banner. From 1986 to 1994 the company embarked on an unprecedented growth trajectory which saw Collier to be an iconic name in Western Australia. In 1995 the company was taken over by the Futuris Group and the following year in September 1996 was acquired by national builder, Home Australia Pty Ltd.In November 2016 the company was acquired by Dario Amara an experienced civil engineer, builder and contractor with some 36 years of industry experience and a second generation West Australian builder of some 32 years standing.
