Prior to that, he worked for several years with national accounting firms Price Waterhouse and Coopers & Lybrand, where he consulted, authored, and presented training programs in accounting, legal principles, and intellectual property.

He holds a commerce degree from ANU, is a NSW licensed agent and stock & station agent, and was the principal of his own agency for 23 years before merging his business with L.J. Hooker in 2023.
