The Amaroo property market has been upended in a remarkable 24-hour window that saw the suburb’s house price record broken twice in back-to-back sales by Marq Property.
Agent Sam Taylor sold the striking five-bedroom, three-bathroom home at 28 Bizant Street for $1.85 million, briefly claiming the top spot for the area.
Nearby, colleague Justin Taylor sold the luxurious five-bedroom residence at 16 Bizant Street the next day, shattering the record by $795,000 on March 1.

“To break two suburb records within 24 hours is something we’ve never seen before in this market,” Taylor said.
“We had over 260 groups inspect the property at number 16, across seven open homes in the first 25 days on market.
“The campaign generated more than 165,000 views across social media and online platforms.”

On auction day, a crowd of 175 people gathered to watch 12 registered bidders compete for the home. Bidding opened at $2.3 million and lasted for 20 minutes before the hammer finally fell at $2.645 million.
According to Taylor, the successful buyers were a young family from the Gungahlin area who had been comparing the property against other options in Canberra’s Inner North.
The record-breaking residence is an immaculate builder’s own home completed in 2020, offering 570 square metres of luxury living on a 684-square-metre block.
Positioned less than 100 metres from Yerrabi Pond, the property features rear gate access to waterfront bike paths and stunning views.

The home is equipped with a heated in-ground concrete pool and spa with retractable cover, a cedar sauna and a premium al fresco entertaining area featuring a built-in Melbourne Fire Brick Company pizza oven and a Ziegler & Brown barbecue.
These landmark sales come as Amaroo continues to show strong growth, with the median house price rising 3.4 per cent over the past year to reach $980,000, Domain data shows.
