Canberra’s first sale on Saturday indicated a strong start to the auction weekend, with the immaculate four-bedroom house at 15 Loureiro Street, Conder, selling under the hammer for $1.165 million.

Momentum Property’s Michael Martin said there had been strong interest throughout the sales campaign, which prompted them to bring the auction forward.

“We were expecting six or seven bidders on the day and were worried we wouldn’t have enough paddles – in the end, 10 registered,” he said.

“The property was announced on the market at $1.125 million with two bidders fighting it out to the final result. The successful buyer was a family relocating from interstate.”

Conveniently positioned near local schools, shops and transport, the home’s floor plan features separate living, dining, family and rumpus rooms, a main bedroom with en suite, a new heating and cooling system, and a generous outdoor entertainment area.

Martin also sold the three-bedroom townhouse at 28 Scratchley Place, Monash, earlier in the week for $830,000. In a boutique complex of eight near the Tuggeranong Town Centre, the private property provides two separate living areas, two bathrooms and a double garage.

In Throsby, Marq Property’s Nik Brozinic said the beautifully presented four-bedroom house at 5 Quokka Street drew two registered bidders on the day but was passed in.

It is now on the market with a price ranging from $1.175 million to $1.25 million, and Brozinic said they were confident the property would be sold within a week.

Set on a low-maintenance 418-square-metre block, the striking house offers a formal living room, a family room, three bathrooms, an al fresco area and a double garage.

The stunning penthouse at 702/16 Lonsdale Street, Braddon, sold for $1.48 million earlier in the week.

Earlier in the week, Hive Property’s Tom Wiggins achieved one of the top prices ever recorded for a three-bed unit in Braddon, with 702/16 Lonsdale Street selling for $1.48 million.

Wiggins said there had been five offers made for the property. The successful buyer was a young professional, though most of the interest came from downsizers.

Positioned on level 7 of The Branx development, the stunning penthouse features bespoke finishes and views of Mount Ainslie and Mount Majura.

In Gordon, Hayman Partners’ Brett Hayman sold the well-maintained four-bedroom house at 15 Fingleton Crescent, Gordon, prior to auction for $1 million.

Set on a generous 831-square-metre site near Lanyon Marketplace, the spacious house features a large outdoor entertainment area, refurbished kitchen, wood fireplace, family room and double garage.

On Monday, Marq Property’s Kris Hellier sold the five-bedroom house at 8 Florentine Circuit, Kaleen, ahead of its September 12 auction for $1.105 million.

Built in 1978 in a coveted cul-de-sac, the house offers a flexible floor plan with two separate living areas, a paved al fresco dining area with a water feature, and a well-established garden.
