Lopez and Affleck purchased the California home in May 2023 for US$60 million ($91 million).

Jennifer Lopez has suffered yet another setback in the long-running saga involving the mansion she once shared with former husband Ben Affleck.

The Hustlers star had accepted an undisclosed offer for the Southern California residence, seemingly ending a two-year search for a buyer.

Lopez, 56, held full ownership of the 12-bedroom, 24-bathroom Wallingford estate after Affleck, 53, transferred his share to her in April this year at no charge as part of their ongoing property division.

Branden Williams of The Beverly Hills Estates told the New York Post Lopez accepted an offer on the property and it entered escrow, part of the legal process in the US.

He declined to name the buyer, hinting only that he works “in tech and finance” and “everybody knows his name”. Williams brokered the deal with Rayni Williams also of The Beverly Hills Estates.

However, just days after the offer was accepted, the agreement collapsed.

TMZ reports the buyer has walked away from the sale despite laying down a substantial deposit. It is not yet known what caused the deal to fall through.

The On the Floor singer and the Argo actor-director purchased the estate in May 2023 for US$60.85 million ($84 million), less than a year after tying the knot.

But by July 2024, the mansion was quietly shopped off-market before being publicly listed at US$68 million ($97 million).

The property, owned by Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, has 12 bedrooms and 24 bathrooms.

One month later, the Maid in Manhattan star filed for divorce, which was finalised in January 2025.

After months on the market and several price cuts, the property reappeared in September 2025 with a reduced US$52 million ($74 million) guide.

It was subsequently pulled from sale in January this year.

It was relisted in May for US$49.95 million ($78 million), a price almost US$18 million ($26 million) below what the former couple originally hoped to fetch.

“While they’ve been hoping to sell the property, they’ve also been hesitant to take a big loss,” People quoted an unnamed source as stating in April.

“They lowered the price to get more interest and when this didn’t happen, they were advised to take it off the market. It was a business decision that they made together.”

The listing describes the property as the “ultimate celebrity compound,” and includes updated photos of the mansion. Notably, Lopez’s belongings, which were visible in previous marketing materials, have now been removed.

Lopez has since moved into a US$17.5 million ($24 million) home in Hidden Hills, purchased in February 2025.

Meanwhile, Affleck reportedly purchased a US$20.5 million ($28 million) “bachelor pad” in Pacific Palisades in mid-2024, located closer to the children he shares with former wife, Jennifer Garner.
