Logan Paul lists infamous ‘haunted’ ranch for staggering price

A sprawling ranch owned by Logan Paul has hit the market for millions, decades after it became notorious for an unexpected reason.

The YouTuber and professional boxer has listed Fobes Ranch, a remote property in California’s San Jacinto Mountains, for just under US$3 million ($4.2 million), according to Realtor. 

Paul bought the home in 2019 for US$1,000,001 ($1.4 million), later revealing the extra dollar was thrown in as a joke.

“If I’m gonna be honest, it’s the greatest thing I’ve ever purchased,” he said on his Impaulsive podcast shortly after he bought it.

But decades before Paul arrived, the ranch had a more infamous reputation.

Former Harvard professor and psychedelics advocate Timothy Leary was associated with the property during the 1960s and early 1970s, when members of the Brotherhood of Eternal Love lived at the compound.

The group became linked to the production and distribution of the LSD tablet Orange Sunshine before the ranch was raided by authorities in 1972.

Leary was known as the “High Priest of LSD” and was once branded “the most dangerous man in America” by president Richard Nixon.

“Fobes Ranch has a fascinating history of its own, including its association with Timothy Leary during the 1960s, adding another unique chapter to this remarkable property,” the listing states.

Paul, however, was less cagey about its past after spending his first weekend there.

He jokingly said the property could be “severely haunted”, explaining he and his friends heard strange noises, including metal doors clanging and car horns during the night.

Years on from its former life, the off-grid retreat now features a four-bedroom main residence, a caretaker’s home, a bunkhouse, a horse barn, a greenhouse, a gym, garages and sheds.

Paul has been based in Puerto Rico since leaving California in 2021 and last year revealed he had bought a US$32.5 million ($46 million) home there.

The property, which he shares with his wife Nina Agdal and their daughter Esmé, includes a swimming pool, a tennis court, a home theatre and a private elevator.
