'Skyward' Soar Above It All

Skyward's 40*ha lies on the eastern fall of the Deer Vale uplands, and as such features large horizons to the north and east, with magnificent views over the Dorrigo Plateau. It comprises of a mix of well-developed farmland and rainforest. The perennial Jackass Creek flows through it.

Skyward features an architect designed home, professionally built in 2018, sitting at 950*m above sea level. It boasts the best of modern fittings and finishes.

The elevated wide decks, the well equipped kitchen and the spacious living areas lend themselves equally well to relaxed living, entertaining friends and family, or as a getaway/ retreat nestled into your own part of the plateau paradise.

Joined to the house is the original living quarters, with its own kitchen, bathroom, a bedroom loft with stained-glass window and Juliet balcony, two further generous bedrooms and a cosy living space. There is a large storage area, and undercover parking for up to 5 vehicles.

In terms of comforts, the house is reverse cycle air conditioned, as well as part of the quarters. There is underfloor heating in two of the rooms. The house and the quarters each have a Nectre slow combustion heater. A beautiful old carpenters bench makes up the kitchen island. The house has a large Bellings range, as well as a vintage AGA range built into its own hutch. The house lighting is adjustable for ambience. The cabinets throughout the house are birch faced.

Skyward is fenced into 6 paddocks, each with reticulated water and a concrete trough. The stock also water at Jackass Creek, which can be accessed from all paddocks. In recent years, annual rainfall recorded at Skyward is an average of 1777.45* mm

The pastures are largely improved. Summer pastures are predominately kikuyu with white and red clover. Winter pastures are perennial rye grasses with white clover. To some extent, the two pasture types coexist, each becoming dominant in its season. Key features of the pasture management in the last few years include a managed grazing rotation, application of lime, seasonal spreading of "Everest" mix of NPK, and more recently mulching both ahead of, and after grazing as is beneficial.

The gates, grids and fencing are in excellent condition. A hardstand area, with its own access to Deer Vale Road, is located in a central position. It accommodates the farming equipment and supplies, keeping them separated from the home environment. A modern set of cattle yards is also located at the hardstand.

A natural feature of the property is the wide sky views and the associated spectacular mountain weather. These are complemented by several lovely walks along access tracks, and through the forest, especially if you enjoy discovering the native fauna and flora. The tumbling waters and glens of Jackass Creek provide another dimension to this ambience.

The natural assets of Skyward are ever changing and interesting; it provides a luxury home in a contemplative environment, along with the activities of a working farm.

16*km to The Township of Dorrigo, 80*km to Coffs Harbour, and 111*km to Armidale.
