The rear veranda and deck have an outlook into a sheltered and private garden, with a children's playhouse and space for a vegetable patch. There is plenty of rainwater storage, a pressure system and a septic tank.

Christopher Lumsden's Cottage has recently been successfully operated as short-term accommodation, returning a good income. With outstanding cheese, craft beer, wood-oven bread and great coffee on the doorstep, it's no wonder that visitors who come to stay love the convenient location. Local honey and oysters are also available just along the road, the ferry is only 15 minutes away on a good sealed road and the beach at Great Bay is a couple of minute's walk.
