Steeped in history

Located approximately 27km from the Manjimup town centre, 12km to Quinninup and 66km to the coast at Windy Harbour you will find this secluded property offering serenity and peace in its native surrounds.

The Warren River wraps itself around the property on the North Western and Northern boundaries while enjoying wide frontages of up to 40-50 metres on the Northern sections, simply stunning!

Steeped in the history of the Manjimup district the original homestead circa 1868, is constructed of hand-made mudbrick, local hand sawed and crafted timber with replaced iron roof in 1970, currently requiring a full renovation. Back then it was drovers' cattle country and this ideal location was the perfect place to call home for the original settlers, the Jones family, on the banks of the Warren River, then the Youngs and the Cuttings followed, hence the road naming.

Between 1970 and 1972, 15 chalets were constructed to offer a holiday destination 'Kin Kin Retreat', for all to enjoy the splendor of the Southern forest's region including bush walking, mountain bike riding, canoeing, fishing, marroning, native animal watching and coastal and forest attractions nearby. The chalets are constructed of local Jarrah wood and iron, consisting of 1 bedroom and bathroom with separate w/c and sitting area. The property is licensed to accommodate up to 64 residents in the chalets, 150 for functions and up to 2,500 people for specially approved events.

Huge character filled lodge common room and commercial kitchen with wooden poles, jarrah ceiling and wall cladding, large cosy open fire and air-conditioning adds to the unique atmosphere of this special location. There is also a laundry and w/c and big wide verandahs to sit and enjoy the vistas or play games undercover, plus a 4 bay double carport which has multiple uses. The main residence adjoins the lodge via an undercover walkway which includes 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, kitchen, living area and separate office.

There are numerous sheds on the property including a 4 bay machinery shed with storage at the historic home site, 2 bay machinery shed with outdoor bar area and cool rooms for large events plus another 2 bay carport with storage.

The water supply includes two 100,000 litre and two 5,000 litre water tanks, a bore, three dams and a water licence to take water from the Warren River. There is also sought after 3 phase power on the property.

Another unique feature of this outstanding property is the 979 metre airstrip, ERSA registered as YKKN Kin Kin Retreat with gazetted co-ordinates 27*W, 090*.

They say location, location, but it would be remiss at such a reasonable offering to say there is also potential, potential here with upside galore!
