About Jim Playsted

Jim's tremendous work ethic, thorough preparation, networking and negotiating skills underpin the trust vendors place in him. He has rewarded that trust with over 200 property settlements now closing on the $100M milestone in sales value, since commencing his real estate career in Hobart during 2011.

Prior to gaining Property Consultant and Auctioneer qualifications for real estate, his training and qualifications include Sales and Marketing and Business Development.

Joining Knight Frank in 2014 as Manager of the fledgling Residential business, the Knight Frank Residential team grew from four to eleven operatives under Jim's leadership until he reverted to a 'town and country' role for the firm in 2017, further expanding East Coast operations from Orford to Bicheno and Coles Bay - while also maintaining a service for his client base in Southern Tasmania.
In 2017 Jim was awarded 'REIT Agent of the year' for his achievements and service to the industry.

In his personal time, Jim contributes as an active community member and Rotarian. He has served as guest auctioneer for community groups such as Rotary, Rural Alive and Well, the Cancer Council and TMAG, the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery.

Past and present interests include Chair of Hobart's Choir of High Hopes Street Choir, the Spring Bay Maritime and Discovery Centre in Triabunna and service to Tasmania's Beacon Foundation.
