Born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware, Robert Murphy embarked on a life journey which has taken him through 14 years of formal education, across 6 countries, and into 5 separate careers. 

After starting his working life in the elite US Marine Corp, Robert purchased a Home Cleaning Franchise operating in both Canada and the USA and from there moved to Hong Kong where he went into Restaurant Management before being recruited by the South China Morning Post to head their Tourism Advertising Portfolio, liaising with major airlines, travel agencies and cruise companies. 

When you put a high achiever in an environment like Hong Kong for 20 years it is inevitable that they will learn the language and build strong relationships. Robert, in fact, speaks Cantonese and one of those strong relationships he built was with an Aussie girl living over there. Although he still maintains strong ties in Hong Kong one Aussie girl captured Robert’s heart and brought him back to make a home in what he believes is one of the best places in the world to live. 

After investigating every Real Estate Agency in Canberra, Robert decided on LJ Hooker Belconnen for the start of his Real Estate Career in Australia and joined the company in 1999. In 2001 he was recognised for outstanding customer service by the Managing Director and in 2004 was inducted into the prestigious LJ Hooker Captains Club.
