Sara Donaldson, of Australian fashion and beauty blog Harper & Harley, recently collaborated with King Living’s The Room Project to incorporate fashion trends into interiors.

True to style, Sara stuck to her three-colour rule, using her signature black, white and grey palette in a living room featuring the new King Boulevard sofa.

Donaldson gives her top tips for creating a stylish interior with neutrals:

RULE OF THREE

Keep to three main colour palettes and accent with metallic and neutrals where needed.

VELVET

This beautiful fabric will illuminate a room by picking up light and creating a homely atmosphere.

SEASONAL TRENDS

If you want to update your interior style this season, include khaki tones and silks.

ACCESSORIES

Pillows and throws are great ways to update your decor, especially if you have a neutral lounge which works with various colours.

PLANT LIFE

Use greenery to add a finishing touch to the living space. Plants bring warmth and life to a room, making a big difference to the space.
