Nugget of information

With a catchy name, Death to Nuggets is an initiative created to improve kids’ relationship with food. Stay on top of innovative, healthy and – most importantly – fun events and menus on their website. And keep an eye out for edible ants!

Guilt-free spirit

The first distilled, non-alcoholic spirit in the word, Seedlip is what to drink when you’re not drinking. Free from alcohol, sugar, sweeteners and kilojoules, there are two varieties, Garden 108 and Spice 94. Buy it from David Jones and Wine Republic, or try it at Siglo, Cookie, 1806 and The Everleigh.

Health cornered

Smoothie bowls and salads abound at Cornerstone, Northcote’s newest healthy-eating cafe. Here, waffles are made with charcoal, poached eggs injected with chilli and salmon smoked with lavender. The menu is almost entirely refined-sugar free, so it tastes good and feels good, too.
