Before she was the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle rented this Colonial-style residence with former husband Trevor Engelson in Hancock Park, Los Angeles.
Architectural Digest reported the sunny, 690 sqm home is now on the market for $2.66 million (USD $1.79 million)
A peek inside Markle’s former home via the real estate listing reveals a spacious open floor plan, central fireplace, natural hardwood floors and an abundance of natural light.
Hear Karina’s story about renovating a French chateau on Somewhere Else:
The ground floor of the two-story house is made for entertaining — a formal dining space sits just beyond the spacious living room, and has a wall of French doors that lead to a covered outdoor patio and alfresco dining area.
There’s also a sizeable family room, which faces the front of the home.
Upstairs are four bedrooms, and two of three renovated bathrooms. The master suite also has it’s own gold-detailed bathroom complete with marble accent wall, a glass-enclosed shower-and-tub combo, and a double vanity.
There’s been a lot of talk that Duchess Megan and husband Prince Harry will soon be embarking on a royal tour of the United States, with a stop in California.
While it’s unlikely the duo would pay a visit to Markle’s former home, her mother Doria Ragland still lives nearby, Architectural Digest reported.
The colourful finishings are emphasised by pristine white walls with white moldings, and a number of floor-to-ceiling picture windows flood the space with Californian sunshine.
The marble countertop kitchen boasts not one, but two stoves, a large stainless-steel fridge, and custom-built cabinetry. It’s accessible through an open doorway from the living room.
The entire property is framed by an inviting grassy lawn.
Markle was born and raised in Los Angeles, and later moved to Toronto while appearing on hit TV show Suits.
