Sandra Bullock's Georgia holiday home on Tybee Island for sale

Oscar winner Sandra Bullock shows great taste in her property portfolio.

Her beachfront holiday home on Tybee Island in Georgia is not a monument to excess. Rather, it’s a beautiful example of a plantation-style house, complete with long verandas, screened porch and ceiling fans.

And now all this could be yours. The movie star says she has been so busy she rarely gets time to enjoy the property with her family, so she has listed it for sale.

​The asking price is US$6.5 million (AUD$9.74 million), but you do get a lot for your money.

For starters, there are two houses on the 1.2ha property, which comprises three parcels. There is the 312 square-metre main house and a 264 square-metre guest house with living room fireplace, crow’s nest and barbecue area. Then there are the beautifully landscaped grounds, a swimming pool, basketball court and private sandy beach.

Altogether, the two houses provide seven bedrooms and six bathrooms.

The home is decorated with emphasis on white linen and wicker, and there’s a contemporary airy, beachy vibe. All the furnishings, except for a few personal items, are included in the sale.

Always the astute business woman, and knowing it is not good for a property to sit idle, Bullock has rented the estate as a vacation rental at US$1400 a night with a minimum of a three-night stay.

Bullock, whose movies include Miss Congeniality, Gravity, The Blind Side and The Proposal, has just starred in the Netflix original, Bird Box. It is rumoured that she will again star in another of the streaming service’s original films, Reborn.

The star also owns property in Austin, a vacation house in Jackson Hole, a Beverly Hills mansion and a Manhattan townhouse.
