About project Kingsborough

ALL UNITS NOW SOLD

Kingsborough is a new urban village where the ideas of community, creativity and sustainability collide. Nestled behind the buzzing Kingston Foreshore, Kingsborough offers something a bit different for Canberra's inner south. Kingsborough is made up of 280 apartments, terrace homes and warehouse dwellings that provide a perfect retreat from city life. At the heart of the precinct is the village square. Shared spaces, gardens and amenities bring residents and businesses together, creating a sense of community.

Like the ecosystem of our nearby wetlands, life is a whole lot better when diversity
thrives. So we threw away the cookie-cutter mould and created a community that's full of exciting differences - just like the people who live within it. The homes within Kingsborough are diverse, so they allow for flexibility and a range of affordability. From families to young groups of housemates, neighbourhood residents from all walks of life add to the variety of culture and lifestyle within the community.

People are social beings by nature - we like to connect with each other and discover our surroundings. Kingsborough Village was built with this in mind. In the precinct, shared spaces encourage day-to-day interactions between liked-minded neighbours. It could be while ordering coffee at the cafe, tending veggies in the gardens or getting your bike serviced.

GOOD TO THE PLANET AND GOOD TO YOUR POCKET, WITH SOLAR POWERED SHARED AREAS

You'll find outdoor areas that are thoughtfully linked to the builds throughout the Village, including pocket parks, corten and formed concrete planters, stadium seating, and laneways with hanging star-jasmine gardens. Private green spaces are bound by magnolia hedges and a variety of low-lying grasses, which are offset by distinctly coloured Japanese maples.

The buildings that make up Kingsborough are inspired by the industrial heritage of the site, but they're designed for modern lifestyles. Five different architecture firms contributed to give the village variety and an authentic, lived-in feeling. Each building has its own unique architectural character and features - from rooftop gardens, adaptable floor plans, light-filled living areas and contemporary finishes throughout.

Kingsborough is the creative vision of Canberra developer John Gasson, who set out to build a community precinct that explored Kingston's industrial heritage. He worked with a team of five architecture firms to bring it to life, each designing a unique building in response to the concept. John is the founder of award-winning building and project management group Construction Control.
