When you stumble upon a cheap house, sometimes it can take time to spot the catch.
But it takes just two seconds to clock the compromise with this red-brick house for sale in a village in the English countryside.
The property in Stanley, near Ilkeston, in Derbyshire comes with a ‘private enclosed garden’ – private, that is, if you don’t mind sharing the yard with a giant electricity pylon.
The towering metal structure sits just a few metres from the back door.

In a move that would make Darryl Kerrigan from The Castle proud, the space beneath the pylon has been set up as an alfresco dining area with table and chairs.
Interestingly, there’s no mention of the electricity pylon in the listing by Burchell Edwards.
However, photos provided for the property clearly show the structure’s presence in the garden.
The three-bedroom, one-bathroom house is on the market for £190,000 ($380,000).
It is a semi-detached property with off-street parking for three cars.
A U-shaped kitchen and living room lead onto a glass conservatory, or sunroom, that is currently set up with a pool table.
Upstairs are two double bedrooms and a single bedroom with a feature graffiti wall.
The garden comes with a greenhouse and workshop for tinkering away at projects.

The agents suggest the home could make “the perfect first time or family purchase”.
“Located in a quiet cul-de-sac and close to all major road links and being within a short drive to both Heanor and Ilkeston town centres really makes this a must see,” the listing reads.
First-home buyers in Australia will likely need to budget for more than $380,000, regardless of any backyard electricity pylons.
The average detached house in an Australian capital city costs $1.2 million. In the regions, the median house will set you back $698,000.
But there are still properties to be had for under $400,000.
A cute three-bedroom heritage house in the Victorian wheatbelt is selling for $345,000.
Or you could buy a former cinema in the New South Wales country town of Mandurama, west of Bathurst.
Those after a big backyard could purchase this two-bedroom weatherboard house in Glen Innes, NSW.
