Agent view: Buyer demand remains strong

Winter 2016 has kicked the historical trend of the market starting to slow down compared with spring and summer, with more buyers attending open homes, creating urgency and strong buyer demand.

With the election just around the corner, the Canberra community is avidly waiting for the outcome and to see the ripple effect it may have on the real estate market.

Suburban renewal has been a key focus with this government. In the past year, Charnwood, Griffith, Theodore and Chapman shops have all experienced a revamp with the refurbishment of Torrens, Evatt and Erindale shops currently in action.

This focus has positively affected the suburb markets with buyers placing a high value on good shopping centres close to where they live.

We are fielding positive reviews of the expanding Gunghalin Town Centre at our open homes from community members while the newly opened Casey Market Town has been a hit in Casey.
