31 Esplanade, Aldinga Beach.

231 Esplanade, Aldinga Beach SA

Aldinga beach is pretty famous in South Australia for being one of the only beaches in the state, and possibly the country, that you can still drive and park your car on. It is definitely a favourite spot for my family and we have spent many a sunny day there with a table, esky and shade tent, enjoying a luxurious beach picnic. However, this home takes that prized beach position to a whole new level.

With absolute beachfront positioning and glass walls along the entire front façade it almost feels like you are in the ocean, with views that go on forever. The home has undoubtedly been designed to make the most of the outlook from almost every room – there are even sea views from the bathroom!

Ignore the bad rental furniture; this home is absolute luxury, from the indoor pool and sauna to the six-car garage and 1,960-square metres of land. Properties on the Esplanade of this standard are pretty rare, so this one won’t last long. Weekender anyone?

509/145 Brebner Drive, West Lakes SA

This home is absolute waterfront and has both lake and sea views.  Positioned on the fifth floor of a secure apartment complex in West Lakes it is both spacious and stylish, with all the modern inclusions you would expect like stone bench tops, floor-to-ceiling tiles, butler’s pantry and an intercom system.

It also has a large deck overlooking the water, with shutters to enclose the space when the weather isn’t behaving. But when it is, I’d be quite happy sitting out there watching the sunset with a glass in hand.

90A Franklin Parade, Encounter Bay SA

Encounter Bay sits just outside of Victor Harbor, a popular holiday spot for Adeladians, and this beachfront home looks like the perfect weekender or sea change spot to me. Positioned in a bay that has safe swimming for the kids it feels as though it could be a million miles away from the city, but Adelaide is just an hour’s drive away.

It is light, bright and modern and designed to let the view be the focus, just as it should be. With four bedrooms, two bathrooms and two living spaces this has family weekender written all over it. I’d certainly take it.
