Moncrieff's Alpine Villas exude Scandinavian style

Homes at Alpine Villas have been released for sale this week, with a new display unit on Hoffmann Street open on weekends.

As part of Gungahlin, one of Australia’s fastest growing communities, agent Paul O’Donnell has seen how strong the demand for properties is in Moncrieff.

“Our level of inquiry and level of interest has been the highest of any development we’ve ever had,” O’Donnell says.

Developer Antalija Constructions’ previous Moncrieff development, The Reserve, sold out before construction started.

Playing around with the externals after designing the interiors, Robert Jukic of R Inventive Building Design with Sarah Leeson of the Mill came up with the idea for a Scandinavian theme.

The roof pitch and simple facades play into this Scandi inspiration, enhanced by crisp lines and fresh neutral colouring.

“I didn’t want to overcomplicate the design; selection of external finishes was as important as the design itself,” Jukic says.

Feedback from previous developments was fed into the process of creating the seven unique floor plans at Alpine Villas.

“We’ve just put a lot of energy and effort in terms of coming up with something different,” O’Donnell says.

Comprising 40 two- and three-bedroom homes, Alpine Villas is spacious. Instead of additional houses, the developer chose to have space for double garages and room to breathe within homes. Buyers have a range of choices, such as the option to have the main bedroom on the ground floor.

Alpine Villas presents the opportunity to buy a new property, with a quality build at an affordable price, in one of Canberra’s most sought-after locations, O’Donnell says.

“It’s just a lovely spot,” he says, “It’s surrounded by a lot of nature reserves, this development is very close to the future group centre there, local schools, parks.”
