Three mega-mansions for sale in Australia come with their own “panic room” or “safe shelter” in the event of an invasion, break-in, tornado or other threat.

One listing in Michelago, New South Wales, contains a “master suite that doubles as a panic room”, and a sprawling property in Wembley, Western Australia, boasts not only a panic room but also a large walk-in safe.

This four-bedroom, three-bathroom property in the Monaro region of New South Wales has a price guide of $1.75 million to $1.925 million and has safety at the forefront.

Michael tells Nine that while panic rooms are not common in Australia, they are a popular property feature in Italy.

The basement at 10a Gregory Street leads to the panic room, and behind the panic room lies a “very large walk-in safe”.

No price guide has been given. However, Domain’s latest data reveals the median house price for Wembley is $1.333 million – an increase of 27 per cent from last year.
