An 1896 Victorian-era manor in Mansfield, Victoria, has come out on top as Australia’s most viewed property on Domain for 2025.

The Domain End-of-Year Wrap report, released last week, revealed the properties with the most listing views on Domain.com.au and the app nationwide, with a mix of prestige homes and historic fixer-uppers topping the list.

Here are the homes buyers and window shoppers were circling this year.

Located in Mansfield, in the foothills of the Victorian Alps, the three-storey building was built in 1896 and retains its historic character through its grand facade and ornate period details.

Across the main residence and converted stable house, the property features a staggering 16 bedrooms. The original stable house on the 5.92-hectare property has been converted into living quarters, providing an extra eight bedrooms as well as further sleeping space in its attic.

A medieval-inspired castle in suburbia with its own knight in shining armour was also a hit. Located at 4 Dowling Street, Leumeah, around 60 minutes south-west of Sydney, the sandstone home is a one-of-a-kind estate, says listing agent Amanda Clement of Sydney Sotheby’s International Realty.

“It’s so unique and special, it’s ideal for someone who just wants something quirky and different,” she says.

Although built in the 1970s, the architecture pays homage to a period centuries earlier. The four-bedroom property at 4 Dowling Street, Leumeah, features castle turrets, sandstone arches, and wrought-iron detailing on the exterior.

The listing is still active.

Opulence in Upper Ferntree Gully earned 7 Salisbury Street the title of the most-viewed listing in Melbourne for 2025.

The palatial five-bedroom dwelling, set on almost 10,000 square metres, has sweeping views across the city from its sprawling patio balconies on both levels that are framed by baroque balustrades. The grounds are as breathtaking as the interior of the home, with the outdoor pool sparkling almost as much as the crystal chandeliers.

The property was sold in October for $3.1 million.

This aged weatherboard in Paddington is steeped in local legend and had been vacant for 30 years until it was listed for sale in July.

Local folklore is that the building was abruptly abandoned  the 1990s, leaving a fully set dining table and stocked pantry behind. Rumours that it was haunted were also rife.

In truth, the two-bedroom home at 31 Perrott Street was held by the same family for 100 years, but had not been used since the last owner-occupier died 30 years ago.

The heritage features – including tongue-in-groove panelling, pressed-metal ceilings, and leadlight windows – were in remarkable condition, though still in need of a touch-up. Views across to the CBD were another highlight.

The property sold in July for $3.1 million.
