Hollywood A-lister Brad Pitt is making changes to his Los Angeles property portfolio.

The Oscar winner is poised to sell his Los Feliz mansion in a secret move.

News of the impending sale was first reported by TMZ, with PEOPLE confirming the deal.

The F1 star bought the property, a mid-century modern abode, in 2023 for $US5.5 million ($8.5 million).

In June this year, the property made headlines after it was broken into.

Pitt, who won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar in 2020 for his role in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, was not at home at the time of the break-in.

The actor, who has a passion for architecture, was planning to sell the property prior to the incident, TMZ reported.

The three-bedroom home is located in an affluent neighbourhood on the slopes of the Santa Monica Mountains.

It is a glass-and-steel cube fringed by palms, with views over the city skyline.

The home was originally built in 1960 by midcentury architect Neil A Johnson. It is known locally as ‘The Steel House’.

The L-shaped house wraps around a pool surrounded by a high bamboo hedge.

Throughout the home, floor-to-ceiling windows and louvres bring in plenty of natural light.

A distinctive floating fireplace is a feature of the living room.

Elsewhere, there is a duck-egg blue kitchen, a study, two bathrooms, a sauna and outdoor cold plunge.

Pitt bought the home off Aileen Getty, a philanthropist and heir to the Getty family oil fortune.

In return, Getty purchased the Hollywood Hills estate where Pitt once lived with his ex-wife, US actress and humanitarian Angelina Jolie, and their children.

Pitt’s decision to offload The Steel House does mean he is exiting LA real estate.

He reportedly owns a Spanish-style mansion in the Hollywood Hills which he purchased last week for US$12 million ($18 million).

He also owns a DL James bungalow in Carmel, which he bought in 2022 for US$40 million ($62 million).
