Canberra’s iconic spring festival, Floriade, will renew its focus on community this year, with Allhomes announcing YWCA Canberra as its official Charity Partner for the upcoming event.

As the new Presenting Partner in 2025, Allhomes will leverage its major platform to support the YWCA Canberra’s vital work in providing safe and affordable housing for women and families across the region.

Proceeds raised from the annual Floriade initiative, The Great Big Bulb Dig, will be presented to YWCA Canberra following the conclusion of the event.

Belinda Sinclair, Allhomes acting chief commercial officer, said the partnership was a natural fit for the business.

“We’re incredibly proud to announce YWCA Canberra as the recipient of funds raised at this year’s bulb dig,” she said.

“Their tireless work to support women and children to find safe and affordable housing is a cause we feel immensely passionate about, and it’s a privilege to stand alongside them in tackling this important issue in the community.”

The synergy was echoed by YWCA Canberra CEO, Frances Crimmins.

“Allhomes is about helping people find a place to call home and so are we,” Crimmins said. “But for us, a home is more than just a roof over someone’s head; it’s about safety, dignity, and a chance to rebuild.”

Running from September 13 to October 12 in Commonwealth Park, Floriade will offer a diverse program under the festival theme of ‘Science and Nature’ through entertainment, art, music, food and interactive experiences for all ages. Floriade’s signature event, NightFest, will also return from 2 to 5 October, featuring headline performances, live music and cabaret shows.

The annual event plays a vital role in the life of the city, attracting visitors from across the country while bringing Canberrans together.

Chief Minister Andrew Barr praised the new collaboration, which underscores the festival’s deep roots in the community.

“I’m especially pleased to welcome Allhomes as our Presenting Partner for 2025 and YWCA Canberra as this year’s Charity Partner,” he said.

“Their involvement reflects the strength of collaboration behind this iconic event.”

Floriade lovers can gain access to The Great Big Bulb Dig on October 13 by purchasing a bulb dig bag from the Floriade Shop or the on-site Information Tent during Floriade.
