Pre-election blues were swept away along with the long weekend as buyers were out in force over the week. Weekend and weekday auctions both produced standout results, with agents reporting larger buyer numbers throughout their campaigns.
One of the highlights on Saturday was the $1.873 million sale of the spectacular five-bedroom residence at 41 Buntine Crescent, Isaacs.
Hayman Partners’ Anthony McCormack said there was strong interest throughout the campaign, and five bidders registered.
Set on a 1094-square-metre landscaped allotment with views to Mount Taylor and the Brindabellas, the expansive house offered multiple family living and dining spaces, three bathrooms and an oversized triple garage.
Elsewhere, The Property Collective’s Obi Shadmaan had success with the $2.04 million result for the striking five-bedroom residence at 39 McLachlan Crescent, Weetangera.
Shadmaan said it was a cracking property that attracted seven registered bidders on the day, achieving a result well above the reserve.
Positioned on a generous 1768-square-metre site and designed by Pettit and Sevitt, the distinctive house has been beautifully renovated and includes spacious indoor and outdoor entertaining spaces, a sparkling swimming pool and a convenient location near Westfield Belconnen.
Shadmaan said he had witnessed a surge in the number of buyers over the past week, suggesting a renewed confidence in the market.
Ray Moon of Independent Property Group also recorded a solid outcome on Saturday with the $1.3 million sale of the grand seven-bedroom residence at 47 Hurtle Avenue in Bonython.
Moon said the auction drew nine registered bidders.
Situated on an 860-square-metre block, the impressive house offered formal and casual living spaces, four bathrooms, a gourmet kitchen and a four-car garage.
On Wednesday, a large crowd and strong interest saw the stylishly updated residence at 6 Nott Street, Fraser, sell under the hammer for $1.366 million.
Jonny Warren from Jonny Warren Properties said there had been a lot of interest in the property throughout the campaign, which attracted more than 70 groups to the open for inspections and six registered bidders competing on the day.
He said the auction kicked off at $1 million and quickly gained momentum, with 65 bids placed over a competitive 35 minutes.
“At one stage two of the underbidders dropped out but returned offering bids as low as $50,” he said.
Set on a 994-square-metre RZ2 zoned site, the fully renovated four-bedroom house offers spacious living and dining areas. It is ideally located within a short commute to local schools, eateries and popular shopping villages, including Dunlop, Charnwood and Kippax Fair.
