Canberra’s auction market continued to run hot this weekend, with strong results recorded across the capital as buyers competed for sought-after properties.

The Property Collective’s Jacob Stanton had a solid result of $1,385,000 for the impressive four-bedroom house at 22 Goldsbrough Close, Macarthur.

Stanton said the auction drew five registered contenders after being inspected by over 70 groups with a mix of families and couples. The successful bid was placed by a first-home buyer.

Set in one of Macarthur’s most tightly held pockets with direct access to the Wanniassa Hills Nature Reserve, the commanding tri-level residence offers 210 square metres of internal living space including living, dining and family rooms, a well-equipped kitchen, three bathrooms and a double garage.

The stylish house at 35 Stump Jump Crescent, Dunlop, sold for $965,000.

In Dunlop, Marq Property’s Sam Taylor said the updated four-bedroom house at 35 Stump Jump Crescent also attracted five registered bidders on Saturday before it sold above the reserve for $965,000.

The property had been advertised at $875,000-plus.

Set on a low-maintenance 465-square-metre block and positioned in a quiet street near a park, the single-level house provides formal and casual living spaces, four bedrooms, two bathrooms and a double garage.

“We haven’t seen the market like this in three years,” Taylor said. “There’s currently an undersupply, with buyers mentioning little stock to choose from.

“It’s shaping up to be a strong spring season.”

Nearby, the three-bedroom house at 6 Searle Place, Holt, sold at auction for $855,000.

Windrose Property’s Sam McGregor said they had four registered contenders on the day, and the property was sold to a young family.

Set on an 842-square-metre block in a peaceful cul-de-sac, the house has been stylishly transformed, offers well-proportioned accommodation and includes a six-car garage.

In Calwell, AM Property’s Luke Lindley said the expansive house at 7 Rodda Place attracted two bidders and sold for an undisclosed price.

Situated on a 1537-square-metre site, the home has 224 square metres of internal living area, which includes living and dining space, a rumpus room, two bathrooms, a double garage and a four-car shed.

Midweek auctions also recorded strong outcomes, with the stylish two-bedroom townhouse at 6/3 Ovens Street, Griffith, selling for $1.18 million through Blackshaw’s Ben Stevenson.

Elsewhere, the five-bedroom house at 32 Maranboy Street, Fisher, and the four-bedder at 28 Carleton Street, Kambah, were both sold for undisclosed prices.

Clearance rates steady at 65 per cent last weekend, up from 59 per cent a year ago. Of the 77 properties scheduled for auction, 68 were reported, 44 were sold and 16 were passed in.
