Albert Einstein is set to welcome staff and visitors to a striking workspace in the heart of Canberra.

A colourful portrait of the acknowledged genius overlooks the reception area of this 274 square metres of premium office space that comprises level 8 of 54 Marcus Clarke Street.

Leasing agent for Knight Frank Canberra, Nicky Cooper, says Einstein seemed like a fitting personality to inspire creativity in new tenants.

“We were looking for a light bulb moment – and that was it,” she says.

“The floor was originally used as the penthouse boardroom and offices by the [developer] Snow brothers, while the timber influence was introduced by the building architect Enrico Taglietti.

“The combination of big windows and the timber highlights present this as a unique space that will appeal to many businesses who believe a creative workspace can inspire productivity,” Nicky says.

The floor is filled with natural light and offers superb views towards Black Mountain Tower,

Level 8, accessed by a private staircase, was recently refurbished and offers a brand new fit-out with 25 workstations.

“It’s the complete set-up. A new tenant doesn’t need to worry about a fit out at all. It’s done. Simply bring your laptops and you’re set to begin work,” Nicky says.

“We believe the layout and the fitout have delivered a highly effective and efficient workplace.”

Level 8 comprises a blend of stylish open-plan office areas with formal and casual meeting rooms, reception and waiting area, a large boardroom and a separate office.

There’s also a full kitchen, rest rooms and shower and abundant storage. The building has two lifts, a recently refurbished foyer, secure basement car parking and 24-hour security access.

Nicky believes the space will have broad appeal among any number of professional sectors.

“Architects, marketing and design firms come immediately to mind, but I think 54’s appeal is going to be just as strong within other sectors like financial services,” she says.

“It’s a great space for collaboration and the development of a creative, collegiate culture.”

And with its own Einstein, sheer genius could break out at any moment.

No. 54 Marcus Clarke Street is positioned among some of Canberra’s best restaurants and cafes, is within walking distance to public transport links, and there is ample public parking close by.
