Canberra property: Narrabundah home filled with happy family memories

Michelle Lawrence’s memories of her grandparents’ home in Narrabundah are of moments that can become lost in modern life: pikelets made from scratch, tea brewed in a teapot.

The family is selling the three-bedroom house after close to 60 years of memories. 

Michelle says her favourite thoughts are tied to the property’s large backyard, where her grandparents grew and harvested vegetables and fruit for cooking and preserving.

“My grandfather always had a big vegetable garden out the back,” she says.

“All the kids through the generations would be helping and learning in the garden. All the children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren have enjoyed times in the house.”

Michelle says the centrality and community spirit of the surrounding neighbourhood were also loved.
