Does anyone need a reason to move to Griffith?
Tranquil surrounds, green streetscapes lined with deciduous trees that canopy over the roads, some of Canberra’s best cafes, restaurants and bars within walking distance. Across Canberra Avenue is a corridor that leads you to the shores of Lake Burley Griffin. It’s no secret why it’s one of the most sought-after areas in Canberra.
Perched along a quiet loop street, opposite Light Street Park, is a brand-new development that might just be your opportunity to make the move to this Inner South haven.
Made up of just 63 one, two and three-bedroom apartments and Grand Residences, Illume is a boutique project that brings a little something different to the market.
“Curated for the live-in owner, the homes have an air of refined sophistication,” says project manager Charlie Nussio of Independent Project Marketing.
“The floor plans were consistently critiqued to ensure they were spacious, liveable and functional.
“Where possible, both bedrooms have been separated to provide a sense of privacy, while all kitchens are full size with plenty of bench and storage space.”
Attention has been paid to even the smallest of spaces, with many residences boasting walk-in wardrobes, while bathrooms and en suites have full-height tiling.
The leafy surrounding environment is invited into each home via generous balconies and courtyard.
But perhaps the most exciting element of Illume is the nine Grand Residences which, quite simply, are just that. Nine of the most opulent apartments you’ve likely ever laid eyes on.
“The brief was to design something that made the move from the family home into an apartment as seamless as possible,” says Nussio.
This means up to 278 square metres of internal living space with a select few offering full-sized laundries, a butler’s pantry, larger cooktops and ovens and dual vanities. Other luxuries include high quality fixtures and finishes, underfloor heating and baths in the en suites and expansive private entertaining areas.
Both the name and the design inspiration for Illume have come from the same source – natural light.
“The original name concept drew inspiration from Light Street and qualities of light,” Nussio says.
“The name pays homage to how natural light interacts and characterises a home. We followed this concept through the apartments by focusing on drawing premium light through every apartment.”
Upon walking into these illuminated residences, you’re welcomed with an immediate sense of expansiveness and elegance.
Three light-based colour palettes are available upon selection of each buyer’s finishes – daylight, moonlight and twilight. They each convey a sense of serenity while allowing the owners to impart their own personality into their home, including both early birds and night owls.
Expected completion is early 2022.
