Display townhouse open: Harrison's Artego development a hit with first home buyers

Buyers can now step inside a completed townhouse at the Artego development in Harrison.

The display home was opened for the first time last weekend giving future and potential residents their first opportunity to experience the finished product.

The Flemington Road development has been a hit with first-home buyers, according to InStyle Estate Agents director of project marketing Jamie McDonell, who says just 13 of the 90 homes remain.

DNA Architects Ross Norwood says Artego was designed around a trio of courtyards to create a community feel within the development.

“The main focus was to provide some nice common areas so we integrated three central courtyards into the development and give each unit an outlook,” Norwood says.

“The main central courtyard has some common facilities like a nice barbecue area, a pool and eco gardens where the community can grow their own vegies.”

Norwood says Artego’s proximity to public transport networks also influenced the design of the development.

“One of the other key factors was to give the development a good connection to the surrounding areas,” Norwood says.

“Each side of the development has an easy path unit to the bus stop at the front, visitor parking and future light rail.

“And even though it’s a reasonably busy area, we’ve been conscious of trying to provide internal spaces and an internal outlook that’s not onto the busy road.”

The development comprises a mix of two, three and four-bedroom townhouses which are fitted with a range of modern inclusions.

There are two three-bedroom designs still available and both include two living areas, an en suite bathroom to the main bedroom as well as a powder room on the ground floor.

Each kitchen is fitted with stone benchtops, soft-close drawers and integrated Ariston appliances.

There is plenty of room for entertaining, with open-plan living flowing through glass sliding doors onto a secure courtyard with covered outdoor entertaining area.
