A vast oceanfront property in Florida is once again on the market – this time $US20 million dearer – for $US159 million ($224 million).

The hefty pricetag makes the mansion one of the most expensive homes on the market in the United States. But the property hasn’t always been this costly.

It went on sale last year with an asking price of $US139 million before the owner delisted the property, The Wall Street Journal reported.

Now the house, which was modelled on the Palace of Versailles, is back on the market with more land and plans for a new underground area for all the entertaining you could dream of.

The subterranean space will house a nightclub, a go-kart track, a bowling alley and an ice-skating rink.

Construction is expected to be finished in two years, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The main house already has 11 bedrooms, a home theatre and an enormous pool with a water slide and swim-up bar.

For more privacy, the master bedroom has its own plunge pool on the balcony.

No expense appears to have been spared, with $US2 million going towards the grand staircase alone.

In terms of transportation, the underground garage can fit 30 cars, but another option would be to arrive by boat and pull up at one of the two private docks.

The relisted  “palace” comes with an additional 6000 square metres of land, with the home now sitting on 1.8 hectares in total.
