WHY I BOUGHT IN … LAWSON

Alicia and Ryan May were looking at investing close to home when they discovered Nest Villas. Living in Banks, they already owned a four-bedroom family home, where they live with their two daughters, as well as an investment property in Pakenham, Melbourne.

Alicia, a public servant, says she and Ryan, an electrician, settled on Lawson because they thought that “it was a great option” from an investment perspective.

She says the fact that “it’s an established area” and that “everyone’s got everything there that they need” gave her confidence in Lawson as the ideal option for their investment.

Alicia describes Nest Villas as “our favourite by far” out of all the properties they looked at.

“The layout and the floor plan of the architectural design was one of the key things we were drawn to,” she says.

She has confidence that their villa will be comfortable and practical as the homes are “well thought out, design-wise”. The little features, such as the two car parks adjacent to the property, she believes make all the difference when it comes to comfort.

Alicia and Ryan are sure that their villa will be easy to let. “You kind of have a bit more peace of mind that you can rent it more easily,” Alicia says, as the useful features and smart design mean “people will see it’s practical”.

“We’re really quite excited to see the end result,” says Alicia, adding that she loves watching the progressions in an off-the-plan build. Alicia emphasised that the agent made all the difference to their buying process, saying that “from the time we went in [to McGrath Real Estate] we felt very comfortable with Adam”.

Ryan and Alicia are so pleased with their purchase that they’re spreading the word. “We’ve actually recommended Nest to a few of the people that we know” says Alicia.
