Keith and Vicki Jorgensen searched for almost three years to find an ideal home close to the schools of their four children.
They were looking for a north-facing backyard, large enough for a swimming pool and entertaining deck, generous-sized rooms and the potential to extend to cater for a family of six.
Number 17 Truscott Street was just what they were looking for but it needed some work.
“It was old and in need of some repairs,” Mr Jorgensen says.
The Jorgensens set about renovating and extending the property and transformed it into a stunning modern home that is ideal for a large family, but still brimming with its original character.
They added two bedrooms and a family and meals area opening the back of the house onto the new pool and deck.
“There are lots of internal improvements, including a new kitchen, and there’s an in-ground pool and new landscaping throughout the whole property,” Mr Jorgensen says.
“We love the pool, the backyard entertaining area, the family rooms and the openness of the home. It’s free-flowing and there’s so much room to move about. It’s a very easy home for entertaining.”
The five-bedroom home has been freshly painted and includes new polished timber floors and new carpets.
After 12 years in Campbell, the couple are downsizing and will be moving to Weetangera with their 16-year-old daughter, Natalie.
They will miss Campbell’s village atmosphere and its proximity to the city.
“It’s a very comfortable and quite a secure area,” Mr Jorgensen says.
“It’s in very close proximity to all major areas, be it the city, Fyshwick or the highways. It’s very conveniently placed.”

This three-bedroom Ngunnawal home is absolutely charming. From its lush mature gardens, to its peaceful position backing the seventh tee of the Gungahlin Lakes golf course, the home is a tranquil retreat at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac.
“With the trees, the birds and the view it’s just quiet and peaceful living,” Owner Robin Wilson says.
Wilson and her husband, Ron, have lived at Kudyera Place for 15 years. They’ve enjoyed the separate living areas, segregated bedrooms for guests and the lovely garden and golf course views from various rooms of the house.
The kitchen is beautifully renovated and the home has been lovingly maintained throughout the years.
Though the Wilsons will miss their Ngunnawal home, they say it is now time to downsize.
