A truly magical home that looks like it has sprung straight from the pages of a fairytale has been listed for sale in the US.
The two-bedroom home, which is fit for a Disney princess, and strongly resembles Snow White’s cottage in the 1937 animated movie Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs, is located in the Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles and has been listed for USD $1,395,000 (AUD $1,856,000).
According to a listing on Realter.com, the “secret fairytale cottage” is set over three storeys and features a living room fireplace, hand-carved wooden balcony and designer kitchen cabinets reminiscent of Snow White’s House.
The home, built in the 1930’s, matches the style of legendary architect Roland E. Hill, who designed the Sleeping Beauty’s Castle at Disneyland Resort, and comes complete with castle turrets, spiral stone stairs, bridges, hewn timber beams and balconies.
As far as theme homes go, this one has it all.
As soon as you arrive at the property you will be taken by the old world charm of the home. The exterior includes stone features and a shingle roof, while there is even a drawbridge leading to the upper level.
Once you step inside the front door, there are plenty of old world touches as well, including timber ceilings and floors, arched walkways and even a classic curved staircase leading upstairs.
The house has been recently upgraded by award winning designer Joshua Cain of Saxony Design Upgraded to include many state-of-the art accessories that have been seamlessly integrated alongside the old-world luxuries.
Comforts include a spacious bathroom shower, smart home heating and cooling for both bedrooms and modern appliances.
The home also features intricate woodwork, stained glass and leadlight windows, while balconies offer views of the canyon.
Outside there are two gardens, including a fenced in private walled yard that features stone accents, a pond, waterfall, wooden bridge and stone stage with outdoor electrical capacity ready for a hot tub.
The agents said the home offers the convenience of city living but without compromising the “lush rural charm” unique to it location in a secluded canyon.
The home previously sold for USD $949,000 in December 2016.
It had sold earlier that year for USD $699,000, after which it was a short-term rental fetching USD $300 a night.
Prior to that it had been held since 1967.
Now, if it only came with magical forest animals to do the housework it would be just perfect.
