Alexandra Jakob, the founder of haircare brand BondiBoost and executive producer of SBS’ Memory Bites with Matt Moran, has relisted her Point Piper mansion with price hopes of more than $60 million.

Jakob listed the five-bedroom, six-bathroom harbourfront residence on prestigious Wolseley Road in September last year through a different agency. The tactic was to attract the wealthy mainland Chinese market with an ambitious $100 million guide.

Robert Klaric of The Property Expert is the vendor’s advocate and confirmed that an offer of $60 million by a high-net-worth local family was rejected this week, prompting Jakob to officially list the property with a full marketing campaign.

Oliver Stillman of Colliers Residential said there is no price guide and is accepting expressions of interest until 2pm on Wednesday, November 26.

The curved home previously made headlines as one of three in a row owned by Jakob and former husband Gabriel Jakob that was purchased for a total of almost $100 million amid plans to build the “most expensive house in Australia” across the site.

Those plans were binned after the couple’s divorce.

Records show Alexandra purchased the address for $40 million in 2019 from former Morgan Stanley Australia boss and Westpac director Steve Harker. Alexandra is selling as she’s downsizing and wants to travel.

The three-level property has a private slipway and a poolside pavilion on the water’s edge. There is a wet bar, cellar, steam room, indoor spa and multiple terraces.

Glass-wrapped walls ensure uninterrupted views from the Harbour Bridge to the Opera House and Double Bay, and a central garden atrium offers a touch of serenity.

Wolseley Road is a one-kilometre strip that’s been home to prime ministers, real estate tsars and successful businessmen.

The Point Piper suburb record belongs to tech billionaire Scott Farquhar, who paid $130 million for Uig Lodge and sold his landmark estate Elaine to a consortium of developers for the same price.

Businessman John Symond’s waterfront estate Wingadal, just behind Wolseley Road, would probably break the national house price record if it should ever sell, and was most recently offered with $200 million-plus hopes.

Jakob is also a childcare entrepreneur, having established the Little Learning School chain in 2006 before it sold to Bain Capital in 2018 in a deal worth a reported $150 million.

Palatial home changes hands

Freight boss Arthur Tzaneros and his wife Maude have sold their Vaucluse residence for about $42 million.

A caveat shows little-known Duo Li is the new owner of the five-bedroom, six-bathroom property with a pool, tennis court and views extending to the Manly headlands.

Two local sources with knowledge of the deal but not authorised to comment publicly said the home sold for circa $42 million.

The home was sold through David Malouf of Highland Double Bay in conjunction with Michael Pallier of Sydney Sotheby’s International Realty. Both agents declined to comment on the sale price, vendors or buyer, but did confirm a sale.

Tzaneros, the chief and co-founder of ACFS Port Logistics, purchased the mansion with his wife for $32 million in 2021 from Balmain Corporation CEO Andrew Griffin and his wife Yelena Alpatova. The sale, which was also by Malouf, marks $10 million growth in just three years.

The abode is set on 2266 square metres and has a sandstone pavilion and garden terrace. There is a stately foyer, dark Herringbone floors and Calacatta marble in the bathrooms.

Elsewhere in the eastern suburbs, Paddington’s Windsor Castle sold for circa $27 million.

The five-bedroom, four-bathroom home was once a premier hotel and sold to Lyndell Droga, a caveat shows, who is the wife of BlueLake Partners CEO Daniel Droga. The sellers were former Goldman Sachs executive Daniel Nolan and his wife Anita, who paid $11.85 million for the abode.

The property was sold through McGrath’s Luke Hogan and William Manning, who both declined to comment.

Mosman’s trophy market soars

An estate in Mosman’s Clifton Gardens has been listed with a guide of $45 million and is owned by Mengyao Ling, the former business partner of Olympian Michael Klim.

Ling bought a major stake in Klim’s Milk & Co skincare company and was appointed director in 2019. Klim sold the business to a consortium of businessmen in 2017 and was retained as director before he was abruptly sacked in 2021. Ling is no longer a director.

Ling purchased the seven-bedroom, six-bathroom residence for $22 million in 2020 from prominent dentist Daniel Adamo and his wife, former recruitment boss Katie.

The five-storey estate is on a 1792-square-metre harbourfront parcel and offers panoramic Opera House and Harbour Bridge views. There is a tennis court, infinity pool, gym and cinema.

Interiors include French oak Herringbone floors, Calacatta marble in the chef’s kitchen, handcrafted tiles, and French windows.

The home is being sold through Anna Chen and Guido Scatizzi of BresicWhitney.

Chen said, “The ambience, scale, privacy and amenity of the property combine to create what we feel is truly a world-class opportunity.”

This week another palatial home in Mosman sold for about $50 million, making it both a suburb record and north shore record.

A deal was made on Tuesday before the estate officially launched to market.
