The burgeoning suburb of Lawson will house another 35 townhouses if a $7 million project is approved.
Plans for a mix of two and three-bedroom dwellings with attached garages have been lodged with the ACT Planning and Land Authority on behalf of Canberra developer TP Dynamics.
If approved, the two-storey townhouses will be built on a 6326-square-metre site between Jumbuck Crescent, Overflow Street and Stockman Avenue at a cost of $7,636,850.
Bedrooms will be located on the upper level of most of the townhouses however, the adapted dwellings will house a master bedroom on the ground floor.
The project’s 21 two-bedroom townhouses will come with one-car garages, while another 11 car spaces will be available on the dwellings’ driveways.
The other 14 three-bedroom dwellings will include two-car garages.
The development will rely on off-site open space rather than include a private communal area, according to the development application.
“The Lawson precinct contains significant public open space [close] to the site including parks, playgrounds and walking tracks – all of which can be accessed easily on the footpath network of the suburb,” according to the document.
It’s not the first residential project TP Dynamics has undertaken in Lawson.
The company’s Nest Villas, a combination of one, two and three-bedroom dwellings, are being sold through McGrath Estate Agents Gungahlin.
TP Dynamics’ development application is the latest in a string of multi-residential unit projects planned for the suburb.
Last month POD Projects Group lodged plans to increase its 65-unit development, Gateway, to a 75-dwelling complex of 16 townhouses, 26 villas and 33 apartments.
