Ombre, 112 Eggleston Crescent, Chifley
$679,950-$743,950
National Build’s Ivan Pirjac believes that “it’s all about having the right balance” when it comes to a home. He says the size and flow of rooms is critical to comfort and liveability.
Interiors at Ombre fulfil this brief, with the design by National Build and TM Architecture prioritising comfort for residents.
“Internally, it wasn’t about being overly exotic and fancy, it was more about being balanced and ergonomic,” Pirjac says.
Exteriors are modern, yet classic.
Pirjac believes that the composition of the facade and the inclusion of awnings mean homes at Ombre “maintain that ’60s and ’70s Canberra styling”.
“It’s got a brilliant location,” Pirjac says.
Ombre, in the Woden Valley suburb of Chifley, sits at the geographical centre of Canberra.
“[Woden] is actually going to be probably the busiest centre of the four centres in Canberra over the next five years,” Pirjac says.
A strong demand for housing and a growing job market make the suburb a thriving and interesting place to live. A short walk from Eggleston Crescent is the amenity of Westfield Woden, and a range of shops, cafes and restaurants in Woden Town Centre.
Just 12 kilometres from Canberra’s centre, the location connects easily with major arterial roads.
Each of the townhouses at Ombre features its individual floor plan, so buyers can suit their home to their needs. The development is composed of 10 two and three-bedroom homes, in single and double-storey townhouses.
Buyers at Ombre can “basically just walk in”, according to Pirjac, who says everything is included from floor and window coverings throughout, to integrated dishwashers and microwave.
Kitchens feature stone benchtops and soft-close drawers, while the home includes reverse-cycle heating and cooling and an alarm system.
Pirjac is expecting a wide range of buyers, thanks to the diverse selection of homes on offer.
He believes that Ombre’s buyers will be primarily owner-occupiers, as “the level of product is one that would draw people to want to live there”.
Two-thirds of the development is still available for sale, with completion expected in November.

Feature we love: The facade of these townhouses is modern, with clean square lines and a variety of depths, creating contrast and interest for the eye.
Who lives here: Canberra’s first satellite hub, Woden, has something for everyone. Sitting close to Canberra’s centre, it’s a particularly good spot for professionals and public servants.
