The Capitol, 31-39 London Circuit
$309,900-plus

Canberra’s first five-star hotel-style residential development officially hits the market this Saturday, but 25 per cent of The Capitol’s apartments have already been snapped up.

Crafted director Matt James says the company has fielded interest from a range of buyers keen to own their slice of this exclusive development.

“It demonstrates that there has been a pent-up demand for high-end city projects,” James says.

“The site is so special, we really needed to develop a premium offering.”

Inspired by the most luxurious buildings across the world in cities such as New York and London, The Capitol will feature a hotel-style concierge and a state-of-the-art gymnasium.

The building was designed by Architectus, one of Australia’s most renowned teams of architects. The firm has won more than 100 awards, including the 2012 World Building of the Year Award for 1 Blight Street in Sydney.

Positioned on the corner of London Circuit and Hobart Place, the 14-storey, 207-unit complex will overlook the landscaped grounds of a revitalised Hobart Place.

It will comprise a mix of floor plans from studio apartments to penthouses and double-storey “sky homes” on the upper levels.

James says The Capitol’s diverse mix of housing types has attracted a diverse demographic from first home buyers to downsizers, while its inner-city position has made it ideal for public servants and legal professionals.

Those with busy lives have also been drawn to the seven-day concierge service.

The concierge desk will be positioned in a grand lobby and include a back of house with a parcel storage room and a cool room for grocery deliveries.

Behind The Capitol’s natural stone, concrete and bronze facade, the interiors will also be finished to the highest standard.

Designed by winner of the 2016 Australian Interior Designer of the Year Award, Fiona Lynch, each home will feature oak timber floors, natural stone finishes and double glazing.

Construction is expected to commence in the second half of 2017, with completion anticipated for late 2019.

Apartments are available in each configuration and the display suite will open its doors to the public every day starting this Saturday.
