The new owners of this charming three-bedroom house in Griffith may find they have little use for the car.
Kingston, Lake Burley Griffin and the Parliamentary Triangle are within an easy stroll and Manuka is just footsteps away.
Neda and Branko Seselja have lived in the heritage-listed home for about two years and have loved the lifestyle the central location offers.
“It’s right on Manuka’s doorstep,” Neda says.
“It’s so close to the wonderful relaxed cafes and it makes shopping so easy.”
However, it wasn’t just the location that charmed the Seseljas. Built in 1928, the property is part of the Blandfordia 5 Garden City heritage precinct.
It retains classic features such as open fireplaces, high ceilings and decorative cornices.
“This heritage home was just perfect for us,” Neda says.
“We’ve always loved homes that are full of character and charm.”
The couple has loved the north-facing orientation and the sprawling garden filled with fruit trees and plenty of space for growing vegies.
The house boasts a versatile floorplan with multiple living areas and three bedrooms.
The Seseljas have refreshed the home, put in a dual driveway and added timber floors throughout, but Neda says the 1071-square-metre block still provides scope for further renovations and extensions.
“There are so many options with this home,” Neda says.
“It would suit a young family, someone looking to be in a great location and extend the home, or someone happy to live in it the way it is.
“The best schools in Canberra are in the area and they’re all in walking distance.”
The Seseljas are moving interstate to a rural property where they will be close to family.
