As a suburb populated with embassies and diplomatic, there’s no shortage of large, stately homes in O’Malley. However, few are as geared towards a large family as this grand six-bedroom house on Pindari Street.

From the dedicated media room to the indoor swimming pool, entertainers will also find the property ticks all the boxes.

Set in an elevated position among other palatial properties, the house boasts a commanding street presence with a circular driveway and an easy-care manicured front yard.

The spacious entry with a feature chandelier sets the tone for the grandeur of the property. A formal lounge and a study flow from the foyer and the lounge opens up to the media room.

A generous open-plan family and dining room caters for informal entertaining and overlooks the swimming pool.

You’ll find few houses in Canberra with a pool like this. It’s 21 metres long, making it perfect for lap swimmers and as it’s indoors, it can be enjoyed throughout the year.

If you’re after something warmer, there’s also a heated spa. A bar and refreshment area means you’ll be all set for the next pool party.

There are six bedrooms and five are on the top floor. A large queen-sized bedroom on the lower level could cater for guests or family members who are unable to use the stairs. The upstairs landing has room for a study area and provides access to the upper balcony.

Large families will appreciate the separation between the bathroom, powder room and dedicated spa room.

The master bedroom is a parents’ retreat with an en suite and walk-through wardrobe to the spa room.

Car accommodation is provided by a double garage with automatic doors and internal access, as well as a separate single garage with access to the backyard.

Houses in O’Malley are tightly held. According to Allhomes data, just 11 properties have changed hands so far this year and only six of these were freestanding homes.

The vendors of this house are downsizing, allowing a new family the rare opportunity to settle in this prestige suburb.

Feature we love: The indoor pool is one of the highlights of the house. It’s well-integrated with the home and perfect for both parties and lap swimming, regardless of weather.
