It is every child’s dream to have a special playground, complete with an enchanted tree house and a cubby big enough to invite their friends over to play.
Prince George will now be the envy of all, with his grandfather Prince Charles transforming the gardens at his Gloucestershire estate into an elaborate play area.
As a part of the conversion, the tree house that once entertained the young prince’s father, Prince William, and uncle, Prince Harry, had also been refurbished.
Also nestled in the gardens is a $38,000 wooden playhouse given to the two-year-old for his birthday.
According to the Daily Mail, the little prince was particularly taken with the tree house that was built for William and Harry in 1989.
When asked what the boys wanted, William told the designer William Bertram: “I want it to be as high as possible so I can get away from everyone and I want a rope ladder which I can pull up so no-one can get at me.”
The tree house was named Hollyrood House after the Queen’s palace in Scotland and because it was first built in a holly bush.
Surrounded by layers of tree stumps and logs, it had holly leaf-shaped balusters, a thatched roof and a long rope leading up to a trap door.
The tree house was relocated after the holly tree died and is now supported by slate towers, with the trap door replaced by a holly leaf-shaped door.
