A sea of colour, thanks to richly planted camellias, rhododendrons and perennials, makes this O’Connor property spring out among this season’s listings.
The home has been owned by the same family for 63 years and is on the aptly named Grevillea Street.
Greg, Colin and Lynne are selling the property on behalf of their late parents, Ethel and Mervyn McInnes. According to Greg, Ethel was the green thumb of the family.
“It was her life,” Greg says.
“The garden grew up around her and at the end she was struggling to find room to fit something new.”
In addition to the beautiful blooms, Ethel tended extensive vegetable gardens.
She was also devoted to St Phillip’s, the local Anglican church, and she shared her flower displays and homemade jams and chutneys with the congregation.
No. 4 Grevillea Street, O’Connor, will be sold through Luton Properties Dickson agents Michael and Jenny McReynolds. Inspect: Saturday, 10am-10.30am and Tuesday, 4.30pm-5pm.
