Anyone who enjoys British television that focuses on stately homes will love this Tudor-revival Melba home.

The two-storey mansion, highlighted by the characteristic half-timber and stucco facade,  is perfectly at home in its elevated dress circle location with views to Black Mountain and Lake Ginninderra.

Owners Levina and James Clinton have called 8 Bainton Place home since 1991 and Levina praises the original builder.

“He even worked the half timbers with an adze (a special axe) in the same way Tudor carpenters would,” she says.

The large residence sits on 1716 square metres with Mt Rogers Reserve as a perfect backdrop.

A spacious foyer opens to a dining room that seats 18. Opposite is a large living room with an open fireplace.

“The lounge is my favourite place, but there is space for everyone to have their own private moments,” Levina says.

The ash timber kitchen overlooks the casual dining area that leads to the outdoor entertaining area including a glistening pool.

There are four bedrooms with the master featuring an   en suite and walk-in-robe.

A rumpus room has separate access and its own ensuite.
