A Sydney house on a triangular block and no parking has shot to a $4.3 million deal.
The 246-square-metre Bondi property, which does not have a big backyard but is moments to the iconic crest of beach, sold at auction on June 8.
The agents who struck the deal were Ray White Unlimited Bondi Beach’s Ron Bauer and Madison Watt.
The buyers had been hunting over the long term and were stoked to secure the stylish, rare-to-find property, which includes an upper-level parents’ retreat with ocean views. They outbid two others, one of whom was a father hoping to purchase the property for his kids.
“It sold above reserve to a young couple who had been looking for about 18 months for a home to live in, they are really happy,” Bauer said.
“We had another lady bidding who was looking for a home to live in and also a dad wanting to buy for his kids. It was a good auction with strong bidding, we had about 30 people in the crowd.
“It’s a wonderful south Bondi location and the house has a great feel and vibe.”
The rear courtyard has a deck for entertaining and the house is spacious inside, with three bedrooms, including a sunroom, living room, dining zone and attic storage.
“Only a short walk to Bondi Beach, this is a home ready for a family to move in immediately and bursting with potential for the future,” the listing outlined.
Bauer said the stratosphere of the market, in the range of $10 million plus, was “pumping”, but other layers of the market were not as strong.
“The market in this area is hard to assess, some things are running out the door while others are sticking around longer than you’d expect, so it’s not consistent,” Bauer said.
“But I would say it’s a more fair market, there’s more fairness to both sides of the equation.
“The high end, over $10 million, is pumping but for anything below that, people are being more thoughtful about their moves at the moment.”
