Cashed up Swisse Wellness chief executive Radek Sali has bought a $12.5 million mansion in South Yarra’s Como House precinct from members of the Van Haandel restaurant enterprise.

The off-market deal, which settled last month, includes a two-storey, four-bedroom, family-sized home on a near-1000 square metre block, also near the Yarra River and Chapel Street shops.

Sali, a long-time Swisse executive, pocketed about $250 million from the $1.67 billion part-sale last September of the vitamin giant to Hong Kong’s Biostime International Holdings.

The 40-year-old is reported to have a personal net worth of about $400 million.

RT Edgar’s Jeremy Fox handled the off-market sale. Vendors Frank and Sharon Van Haandel, who plan to find a new Melbourne base, will shortly be re-opening the Stokehouse restaurant on St Kilda beach.
